Who is eligible to receive DME products or services?
Typically, a prescription or order from the patient’s healthcare provider, physician’s assistant, or certified nurse practitioner is required. The patient or caregiver may then submit the form in person or via our online portal. Our trained specialists will submit an authorization request to Medicaid, Medicare, or private insurance to help cover the cost of the appropriate products and services.
Who pays for the items?
iWound Global will send a bill to Medicare or the appropriate insurance provider. If the patient qualifies for Medicaid, BMS will send a bill to Medicaid. Medicaid pays for a large number of necessary medical items.
I am a Medicare or Medicaid recipient. Do you work with these providers?
Absolutely! We are an “accredited” DME provider and work with Medicare Part B as well as many other secondary insurance providers.
Do I need a referral from my doctor?
Yes, a detailed prescription from the patient’s healthcare provider, physician’s assistant, or certified nurse practitioner is required for the majority of products. This enables us to provide the essential medical supplies and bill the appropriate insurance company for the products and services.
What details should a prescription include?
The prescription should include the name of the patient, DOB – the date of birth, a description of the specific item(s) or services that is required, the length of service or need, and a supporting signature and date.
What should I do before I call to order supplies?
Make sure that you can provide us with the information from all of your insurance cards (Medicare, Medicaid, or private insurance). We will also want the patient’s complete prescription from their healthcare provider, physician’s assistant, or certified nurse practitioner.
